Interior, Freemantle Woolshed

Interior, Freemantle Woolshed, 32 kms northwest of Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. The highly functional construction of the shed features hinges flaps which allow light and much needed ventilation. The floor is of 50 x 40mm deep battens at 70mm centres to allow droppings to be washed through. Posts are on average 300mm (1 foot) diameter supporting a simple system of beams and rafters. The shed is 29.5 m (97 ft) long by 20.5 m (76 ft) wide.
