St. George's Market
J. C. Bretland
1896
May Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland
The glass-roofed market, which is now open only Friday and Saturday mornings, is located just south of the city-centre, near the Lagan River and the Albert Bridge. Despite its essentially utilitarian nature, the building, covering a full city block, has some elegant elaboration. It is currently undergoing some restoration to replace the knops and ironwork.
