The Law Society
Lewis Vulliamy (1791-1871)
1828-32.
The Law Society was founded as the Law Institute, a "voluntary organisation of solicitors" (Weinreb et al. 476), in 1825. Vulliamy's impressive neo-classical building is very much of its time, and certainly supports the idea that he was a "thoroughly professional" architect (Allinson 178). [Detail: Entire building]
