Gleeson White

Late 1890s; signed.

Pen and pencil on paper.

Another of Gleeson White’s fruit-bearing designs, with vibrant twisting roots reinforcing the idea of vital growth and development. The whole is further animated by the swirling banner and all of the visual elements embody the motto: ‘Accomplish rather than be conspicuous’.
