Solomon and the Queen of Sheba . Designed by William Butterfield. Tile painting, interior of the Church of St. Augustine Queen's Gate, Queensgate Mews, Kensington, Greater London SW7 5JE. Since Solomon is one of the ancestors and therefore types of Christ this panel, interpreted typologically, might possibly represent Christ and his church, the Queen of Sheba representing the Church of Christ. Such an interpretation, however, seems more in keeping with Evangelical or Low Church practice rather than the High Church Butterfield.
