South aisle stained glass window
This window also belongs to the same early twentieth-century sequence of five as the previous one, illustrating the progress of the Christian soul. Here, the young boy is confirmed by Jesus, in the presence of an angel and a priest, with the altar of St Mary's in the background and its patterned tiling at their feet. The angel holds the flag with the St George's cross, which is soon to be handed to the young Christian being initiated into the church. Underneath is written, "Returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls," from Peter 2, 25.
