Front elevation for Old Blundell's School (founded 1604), Tiverton, Devon. Gordon D. S. Maddock, an Old Blundellian himself, found the these plans of the school "inside an old copy of Lorna Doone that I purchased in a book shop in Lostwithial, Cornwall some time ago." Mr. Maddock, a retired policeman in both the London Metropolitan Police and country who has written three books on the police and social history from the 1950s to the 80s, recommends the website of the new Blundell's Shcool, which has moved to the outskirts of Tiverton, as a good source of information about Blackmore's school.
