I scratchbuilt the blacksmith's shop from individual pre-stained boards over framing — a modeling method I learned from building a Fine Scale Miniatures sawmill kit, which appears at the left. I placed the blacksmith's shop in a separate shed so I could use the space assigned to it in the orginal kit for a company office that I furnished with Scale Structure desk, sofa, and chairs. Note the many castings inside and outside the shop.
