St Dorothy, St Theresa and St Agnes, from designs by Sir Edward Burne-Jones (1833-1898), made by the Morris Co. and installed in St David's Chapel in St Cybi's Church, Holyhead, Anglesey, in 1897. The window is in memory of Elin Stanley (1809-1876), who was the wife of William Owen Stanley; it overlooks from the side the lovely Stanley Memorial to Elin's husband, by Hamo Thornycroft.
Left: Closer view of St Theresa's face. Right: Closer view of the lamb held by St Agnes. Here can be glimpsed the flower pattern in the quarries.
According to Dr. J. Ken Roberts, "St Dorothy in pink, holding an apple bough was painted by Stokes. St Theresa in blue with a dove on her shoulder was painted by Walters. St Agnes in green holding a lamb was painted by Bowman. Wren painted the quarry backgrounds and Campfield was the glass painter of the inscriptions" (50). These were all associated with William Morris. For example, Morris wrote to "Mr Campfield" on 30 October 1874 asking him to give some work to "Mr Bowman," because he had none at the moment (238), and the editor of the letters explains that Bowman was "one of Morris's chief glass-painters employed 1877-1909" (238n.). The window has been beautifully restored.
