Cannon Street by Sir Frank Brangwyn RA RWS PRBA HRSA, 1867-1956. 1913. Etching. © William Morris Gallery, Walthamstow. Photograph by George P. Landow. The gallery label explains, “Brangwyn shows London's Cannon Street [railway] station full of life, with crowds of people on the platforms and the steam engines beyond. This print is also know as The Departure of the Hop-Pickers. East Enders often spent summers hop-picking in Kent, and Brangwyn shows them waiting to catch their train.”
