Santa Maria through Rigging by Sir Frank Brangwyn RA RWS PRBA HRSA, 1867-1956. Oil on board. 74.9 x 100.3cm. Collection: The McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery and Museum. Accession No. 9e-1939. This is just the kind of subject Brangwyn loved, and nowhere does it seem more true, as W. S. Sparrow said in his essay on his ideas as a painter, that his work was not "bounded by a gold frame."
