According to the Catalogue Note, this shrine "located on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem" dates from 691 CE, making it "one of the oldest works of Islamic architecture and an important landmark here: "The site's significance stems from religious traditions regarding the rock, known as the Foundation Stone, which bears great significance for Jews, Christians, and Muslims."
