Ibi omnis effusus labor — "Poured out was all his labour". The quotation from Virgil's Georgics Book IV appears at the point where Orpheus has brought Euridice from Hades but has looked back: "Ibi omnis effusus laabor atque immitis rupta tyranni foedera, terque fragor stagnis auditus Avernis" —

"But even with the look,
Poured out was all his labour, broken the bond
Of that fell tyrant, and a crash was heard."

Euridice returned to Hades and Orpheus was left alone.
