The Creation of Eve by Ernest Cole, sculptor; stone carvers, Joseph and Peter Induni. 1915-21. Portland stone. Location: former London County Hall, Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1, designed by Ralph Knott. Another view. [Click on these images to enlarge them.]

The dramatic discolorations on the stone that divide the statue into black and white zones make reading the figures difficult and distract from the work's effectiveness, but even without these distractions it would be hard to discern God making eve from Adam's rib, if, indeed, that is what the sculptor has depicted.
