The Triqueti room of the Musée Girodet, Montargis, France
This fine portrait-bust makes Triqueti look very distinguished, as by all accounts he was, and is instinct with Durant's admiration for him. It seems fitting that it should be here in the Triqueti room of the Musée Girodet. Triqueti was born in the nearby village of Conflans-sur-Loing, and the museum is named after the early nineteenth-century artist Anne-Louis Girodet, who also lived in the area and who first encouraged the young Triqueti.
