Height: 7 1/2 inches (19 cm)

Commissioned onginally on 1 January 1891, Gilbert took five years to complete this piece. In 1896, the 4th Viscount de Vesci presented it to his wife (née Lady Evelyn Charteris) on their silver wedding anniversary. The figure in armour which surmounts the seal holds two shields eSir Alfred Gilbert, RAlled respectively with the arms of Vesey and Charteris.
