Bluebell Sir Richard Westmacott, Junior, RA (1775-1856) Signed and dated 1836 Plaster relief Cast from the relief commissioned by the Early of Ellsemere which was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1836. Sir Richard Westmacott learnt his craft from his father and from 1793 in Rome, where he received a gold medal from the Academie de Saint-Luc. He worked in Florence and returned to England, where he executed numberous statues for Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, and Lincoln Inns Field. (Fairy Folk in Fairy Land) |
