Heading to the Introduction
Edmund J. Sullivan
1898
Sartor Resartus, p. vii
Since this header illustration accompanies Sullivan's own introduction, which he addresses to a Dr. John Colborne of Hastings, the man depicted is apparently Sullivan himself. Note his inkwell in the shape of the earth.
