The top and bottom of 1, St. James Street. Left: The roofline has much in common with the one Harold Ainsworth Peto and Sir Ernest George used on 52, Cadogan Square close to Norman Shaw's buildings and to his own curved-gabled houses in Bedford Park. Right: Norman Shaw used large curved windows in residential buildings, such as the one above the entrance to Albert Court and the Clock House and on the ground floor on buildings in Liverpool designed with Francis Doyle.
