Art Nouveau ironwork fence in front of Century Hall, linked to the Methodist Church, Ashbourne, Derbyshire (see Hartwell 114). It was opened in 1900. The hall, its outside wall and railings are all listed, and the hall itself is described in the listing text as being in "Eclectic Art Nouveau style" (though it is perhaps better seen as Arts and Crafts, since it has some Tudor features). The listing text ends, "Front wall and railings: square brick piers with domed ashlar caps; coped plinth wall to railings with Art Nouveau Scrollwork panels. 7 further panels to left." As it goes on to say, the building is attached at the back corner, on the left, to the church in Church Street.
