The story was originally issued in a twenty-seven page, paperback format, 18 cm high by 13 cm wide, with ten engravings on six pages, drawn and etched by Cruikshank, in 1854, immediately after he had issued "Hop-o' My-Thumb and The Seven-league Boots" and "The History of Jack and The Bean-stalk."
