The Baptism of Christ, by Henry Holiday, executed by James Powell & Sons. 1889. This is in the lower part of a larger window in the south wall of St Mary's Parish Church, Dundee, below the gallery, "light and clearly drawn" (Gifford 92). The inscription tells us that the window was given to the church in memory of Thomas Bell of Belmont, who died in 1887, and his wife, Abigail Hannan Jarvis, of Antigua, West Indies, who died in 1883, by their children, Thomas, Abigail, John, George, James, Charles, and Edwin, in 1889. According to Ian McCraw, Bell "had been an elder of the East Church or St Mary's for many years, and was a merchant and floorcloth manufacturer" (69).
