The Good Shepherd Window, St Peter's Church, Staines

The Good Shepherd window at the west end of the south aisle of St Peter's Church, Laleham Road, Staines, Surrey, by Edward Arthur Fellowes Prynne (1854-1921), executed by James Jennings. This is a memorial window installed in 1911, in memory of the founder's father, J. G. Clarke, and also of Lucy Bride Hall, who was the infant daughter of the vicar then, the Rev. H. E. Hall (see Taylor, Souvenir, 13-15). The window shows Jesus as the Good Shepherd, with a shepherd's crook, two sheep beside him and a lamb on his shoulder, and St Peter kneeling beside him, also holding a shepherd's crook and against a similar background (the fence could be that of a sheepfold) with keys hanging from his forearm. Photograph, caption, text and formatting by Jacqueline Banerjee, with many thanks to the parish office for help and advice.
