Béatrice LAURENT is Maître de Conférences at the Université des Antilles et de la Guyane in Martinique, where she teaches Romantic/Victorian studies.

A Pre-Raphaelite scholar, Béatrice has contributed to Worldwide Pre-Raphaelitism (ed. T. Tobin, SUNY Press, 2004), to several issues of the Journal of Pre-Raphaelite Studies, and was the editor of a volume of essays on William Morris (News from Nowhere, ed. Du Temps, Nantes, 2004). Her broader field of research is visualities and she published La Peinture anglaise in 2006 (ed. Du Temps).
