Originally issued by John Newbery, of London, c. 1760; later by Thomas of Worcester, Mass., and Munroe & Francis, of Boston, c. 1825.

Thomas frequently borrowed from Newbery. An advertisement for Thomas's edition ran: "Books for Masters and Misses of all ages, which will make them wise and happy." It sold for eight pence.
