The War in the Soudan: Sir Charles Wilson’s Reconnaissance of Khartoum: Conflict with the Enemy opposite Omdurman. . “Sketch by Our Special Artist, Mr. Milton Prior.” Immediately above the two-page illustration appear the following key in very small print: “Ruins of houses, Mosque of Khartoum, Island of Tuti, lined by the eEnemy, Palace of Khartoum seen over the trees, Enemy firing, enemy with banners, on sand pit, and Enemy’s fort at Omdurman.” ILN (21 February 1885): 191.
