Monument for St. Dionis Backchurch. 1879. (Monument for “the place of sepulture of the mortal remains” from a Wren church demolished in 1879. City of London Cemetery, South Gate Road, Stratford, Greater London E12 5AF. [Click on the image to enlarge it.] The text on the monument reads:

St. Dionis Backchurch City of London

This monument is erected to mark the place of sepulture of the mortal remains of the parishioners and others removed from the vaults of the church of the above parish in the year 1879 in accordance with a scheme propounded under the Union of Benefices Act and carried out by an order in council whereby the benefice of the parish of St. Dionis was united for ecclesiastical purposes with the united parishes of All Hallows Lombard Street Saint Benet Gracechurch and Saint Leonard Eastchurch.
