Harman and Minnis explain that the frieze on the left of the main entrance includes “architects, sculptors and artists together with workers in the fine trades — electroplaters, buffer girls, ivory turners and cutlers preceded” by the goddess of light and knowledge” (63). (The first occupations appear on the previous plate.)
