John Bright. Sir W. Hamo Thornycroft, R. A. (1850-1925). Bronze. 13 inches overall height including a 1-inch self base. Signed “Hamo Thornycroft 1891” on top of the self base. Titled “John Bright” on the front of the self base. Labelled: “Published by Arthur Leslie Collie 39b Old Bond Street London Sepr 10th 1891.” Collie, one of the first people to sell reductions of large works — this one is a version Thornycroft's Bright in Rochdale — at a reduced price so that they could be more widely owned and appreciated, created this limited edition reduction of the statue of Private collection.
