An ornamental label celebrating New Year’s Eve

Unknown designer

Circa 1867

A chromolithographic bouquet on a silver-coated doily in the manner of lace. The flowers can be lifted, revealing a ‘New Year’s Wish’ in tiny print. A rare survival, it reinforces the book’s function as a cadeau for the festive season.

On front paste-down of Wayside Posies.
