Angeli Laudantes, by Lady Catherine Milnes Gaskell.
This other piece of embroidery by Lady Catherine (see her embroidered curtain) was partly based on a design by Edward Burne-Jones. "Tame and wild animals — two kittens, a dog, a lion and a tiger — scamper among the foliage at the feet of the angels, against a background of red roses, lilies and greenery. The tableau is framed by a border of oak leaves and oak apples. This embroidery hangs in Holy Trinity Church, Much Wenlock" (Gamble 270).
