Cherry, oak; veneers of thuya, ebony, walnut, and rosewood

English cherry (?) and various inlaid woods, oil gilding and upholstery. Shaped crest rail with carved decoration connects two turned stiles with carved and inlaid decoration and partial gilding. Back splat is fitted with upholstered back support. Seat rails are decorated with carved and stained banding;turned front legs with bands of inlay and partial gilding. Front legs are co nnected to splayed back legs by stretchers of two semi circles. (one of a pair, with 1985.700). Probably uppholstered by Cecil Millar.
