Out on a hunting expedition, a hundred years later, a young prince notices the castle's tower, and learns of this strange occurence from an older man, here, a woodcutter. He is keen to try his luck in the overgrown woods around the castle. (The accompanying verse is still far behind this, only just arriving at the original curse.)
