The Vine had struck a Fibre

Photographic reproduction of pen and ink drawing

This illustration originally appeared in Fitzgerald's Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam and is here reproduced from Thorpe's E. J. Sullivan, p. 68.

The Vine had struck a Fibre; which
        about
It clings my Being — let the Súfi flout;
Of my Base Metal may be filed a Key,
That shall unlock the Door he howls
        without.
