Scratchbuilt wooden flatcar gondolas

I scratchbuilt these two wooden trussrod flatcar gondolas from individual basswood boards and painted one bright yellow to represent it shortly after it came into service on the Albion Pawtuxet and Galilee. The other, which has been assigned to a maintenance-of-way work train, has not had a paint job for some years. Filled with track ballast, it has one of the crew resting on the front of the car. A photograph of both appeared in "Make Mine and Old Timer," my 1979 article in Railroad Modeler.
