Stained glass

All Saints', Putney, London SW15

North Aisle, 1

Complementing the virtues in the south aisle, the windows in the north aisle depict the Old Testament patriarchs, starting at the eastern side and showing them in recognizable roles: here, the righteous Enoch being grasped by the hand of God, to be taken up into heaven; and Elijah, being fed by ravens in the desert. Both designs would be used elsewhere. This window was in memory of John Merriman, who died in 1881.
