This document serves as a note tothe author's biography of Joseph Southall. [GPL]

Jowett was the first commissioner of works with a seat in the first Labour Cabinet; he is probably best remembererd for his authorisation of the erection of Epstein's Rima — The W. H. Hudson Memorial — in London's Hyde Park in 1924.
