Dizzy: — “Go it, Northcote, give him another Pen’orth”

Disraeli, the inquisitor, commands his secretary of the Exchequer, to stretch poor John Bull even further on the rack. Today, it seems odd that the leader of a conservative party would raise taxes, and it also seems particular tone-deaf, if not intentionally insulting, to depict the Jewish Disraeli as a representative of the Inquisition, which committed so many atrocities against Jews.
