The toboggan-like sled bears the name “Home Rule Express” as it slides past Parliament with Gladstone holding on to the shoulders of the young woman representing Ireland who raises a cloth or handerchief labelled “closure.” Two amendments sink in the water between Gladstone’s sled and the shore.
