Gladstone holds a bundle of switches labelled the Coercion Bill, and the men with shamrocks on their trousers obviously represent the pro-Irish interests. The editorial cartoons in this magazine form groups about the Irish questions of the day — the Land League, the Fenians, and Home Rule.
