Mermaid Fountain (1896), Hyde Park, London, by William Robert Colton, RA. [Click on these photographs and those below to enlarge them.] According to Bradley and Pevsner, this “Art Nouveau maiden [was] replaced in concrete 1970” (663). They call it the Mermaid Fountain, but Byron, who dates the replacement to 1975, entitles it the Colton Memorial (also known as Little Nell).
