Probate records confirm the date of Fell's death. He married Lucy Gayson Dickie in the summer of 1888, a year before he died — although he was living with her (and she is listed as his wife) in both the 1871 and 1881 censuses. In the 1881 census they were living at 63 Tollington Park, Holloway.
