Juliette Ferrus was the daughter of André Ferrus, only son of Triqueti's long-time friend, the physician Guillaume Ferrus. She was four years old at the time. Much attention is paid to her clothing, especially to the tiny gathers below her lace-edged collar. Triqueti, a fond father himself, features babies and small children in many of his mythological and religious compositions (see Galliot-Rateau 40).. They are depicted with great tenderness.
