Introduction

According to the Mapping Sculpture site, Wright was born in Rotherhithe, London, the son of a butcher, attended the RA Schools, winning a Landseer Scholarship (1900), and exhibited at the Royal Academy 20 times between 1903 and 1935. A member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors, he was nominated by Thomas Brock and seconded by Stanley Nicholson Babb.
