The two brothers, John (1849-1931) and Joseph (1850-1929) Leeming, were from Halifax. They went into partnership in 1872, and were joined by a very able assistant, Richard Fielding Farrar (1860-1948), in 1877. It was not until 1904 that Farrar went into independednt ptractice, in Leeds, but until then he seems to have played a large part in their success. From at least 1901 the Leemings had a London office in Victoria Street, Westminster (Brodie 33); another, probably later address was Old Queen Street ("Joseph Leeming"). — Jacqueline Banerjee
