Shops and offices. Pinstone Street, Sheffield. According to Harman and Minnis, the Salvation Army, which built its Citadel around the corner on Burgess Street in 1892, developed these commercial buildings (97).
The “block on Pinstone Street, was developed by the Army as shops and offices, and retains its original lively lively roof-line crowded with decorative gables, turrets, dormers, and chimneys” (97).
