Binding by Randolph Caldecott. 8 x 9½ inches; engraved on wood-blocks and printed in colour by Edmund Evans. Another vigorous design which is animated by the patterns created by the outline of the prancing horse and the flowing arabesques of the lady’s gown and hair. Decorative and amusing, the cover adds entertaining details such as the crow, and the artist’s name, which appears on a milestone.
