Old Testament Scenes by Lavers & Barraud, designed by Nathaniel Westlake (1833-1921). Installed in the north-east chapel of All Saints Church, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, in about 1860, according to the Church Guide (see Eberhard). Westlake had been designing for Lavers & Barraud since 1858, but would not become a partner until 1868. This four-light window shows acts of faith: Abel offering his sacrifice, Noah preparing the ark, Moses passing through the Red Sea, and Jacob blessing the sons of Joseph.
Left: Noah building the ark: "Make thee an ark of gopher wood" (Genesis 6, 14). Right: Jacob blessing the sons of Joseph: "And Joseph said unto his father. The are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, and I will bless them" (Genesis 48, 9).

The chapel in this north-east corner is the regimental chapel of the old East Surrey Regiment, and the window displaying "acts of faith" seems especially appropriate here. Along its lower edge, the window is dedicated to the memory of George Reynell, who died on 25 August 1859, and whose death was registered in Kingston in the September quarter (Free BMD records).
