he 18th- and 19th-Century British Women Writers Association seeks 300-word proposals relating to British/Anglophone literature, culture, and social history engaging with British women writers (broadly defined) of the long 18th and 19th centuries. Proposals relating to the PMLA conference theme of “Geographies of the Fantastic and Quotidian” in relation to any of the aforementioned topics are welcome in addition to the following.
Proposals are especially encouraged which address:
- Colonizing literary studies
- Postcolonial studies
- Critical race studies
- De-centering Whiteness in British literature
- Critical queer studies
- Critical gender studies
- Critical trans studies
