The William Morris Society in the United States, founded in 1957, has the aim of making Morris, his friends, their work, and their ideas better known. Morris's friends in this context include the Pre-Raphaelite artists and writers, and participants in the Aesthetic and Arts and Crafts movements in both Britain and America. Members automatically become members of the William Morris Society in Great Britain, and receive the British group's quarterly newsletters and semi-annual "Journal" along with our own "Newsletter" and mailings. The Society issues and sponsors scholarly publications — an edition of Morris's play "The Tables Turned" was published by Ohio University Press. In addition to regular participation at the Annual Convention of the Modern Language Association, there are occasional meetings in various cities (often a talk, a social gathering, or tour of an exhibition or museum).

[Florence Boos, current President of the U. S. William Morris Society, writes (November 2007) to inform readers of The Victorian Web that it now has an rich website containing information about its scholarly journal, a US Newsletter, links to discussions of Morris in many languages, up-to-date calendars of featured events in the US and UK, and instructions how to join the Society.]
